Yamaha unveils ROBIKE

It is time for driverless vehicles.. automobile world is going to bring handsfree driving.. well.. we saw it in cars, now it is time to bikes. Yamaha has unveiled a robot capable of riding a motorbike. Called Motobot, the machine has been designed to go around a racetrack at high speeds.
The firm says it will use it to improve racer safety - but also hinted it will 'pioneer new lines of business' with the technology.

Yamaha said It is entirely autonomous. 'This is an autonomous motorcycle-riding humanoid robot built around a fusion of Yamaha's motorcycle and robotics technology,' a spokesperson for the company said. 'R&D is currently underway with the goal of developing the robot to ride an unmodified motorcycle on a racetrack at more than 200 km/h.' However, it also said it hopes to use the technology to 'pioneer new lines of business', which could one day see self driving motorbikes taking on cars to ferry
'We want to apply the fundamental technology and know-how gained in the process of this challenge to the creation of advanced rider safety and rider-support systems and put them to use in our current businesses, as well as using them to pioneer new lines of business.'
